What to expect
Decisions, timeline and communication
Every project has the same categories of decisions to make. Knowing them ahead of time keeps the schedule on track.
Decision timeline
Layout decisions come first, then material selections, then final confirmation before ordering. Long-lead items such as cabinetry and windows are ordered as soon as the design is locked so they do not delay construction later.
Permits and inspections
Most structural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work requires a permit and staged inspections. We prepare the permit set, submit it to your jurisdiction and schedule inspections as the project reaches each stage.
Communication
Your project manager is a single point of contact throughout construction, providing schedule updates and flagging decisions that need your input before they can hold up the job.
What we ask of you
- Respond to selection and decision requests promptly
- Share how you plan to use the space day to day
- Flag budget priorities early so tradeoffs are clear
- Let us know about access needs, pets or scheduling constraints
